On World Pilot’s Day (26 April), easyJet announced the reopening of its Generation easyJet Pilot Training Programme for 2023. The airline confirms plans to recruit around 200 cadets for the 2023 intake, aiming to train a total of 1,000 new pilots by 2027.
The programme is delivered in partnership with CAE, offering training to aspiring commercial airline pilots. Ground training is provided at CAE’s European aviation academy locations in Gatwick, Milan, Brussels, or Madrid, with flight training at CAE Phoenix in the US. Successful graduates commence their careers as Second Officers with easyJet.
Applications are now open for programmes beginning in December 2023 and graduating by 2026. As part of its commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, easyJet encourages applicants from diverse backgrounds, with a particular focus on attracting more female pilots.
easyJet has demonstrated its support for CAE Women in Flight, offering one European candidate access to their first employment opportunity. CAE will fund and provide pilot training for the successful candidate at one of its aviation academies. The successful recipient will become a CAE Women in Flight ambassador, inspiring more girls and women to pursue a career in aviation.
